Your first night
Nervous? Everyone is. Then the music starts.
Your first visit is a $35 Introductory Package: a friendly introductory session where your instructor meets you where you are, finds out what you want from dancing, and gets you moving. No partner needed, no experience expected, nothing to bring but yourself.
What your first night looks like
You walk in, we greet you at the door, and within a few minutes you are moving. Your instructor starts by finding out why you are here, a wedding on the calendar, a bucket-list item, a night out that is not dinner and a movie, and builds your first lesson around it.
There is nothing to prepare. Come in comfortable clothes and shoes you can turn in (leather soles help, sneakers are fine). If you come solo, your instructor is your partner; about half of our students start that way.
The three things everyone worries about
“I have two left feet.” Perfect, that is exactly who we teach best. Social dancing is built from small, repeatable steps, and we do not move on until yours feel easy.
“Everyone will watch me.” Nobody watches beginners here, because everyone in the room remembers being one.
“I don't have a partner.” You do not need one, not for your first night, and not for any class after it.
After your first visit
If you enjoyed yourself, your instructor will lay out a simple starting plan: a group class to build steps, and our Friday practice party to use them with music, lights, and friendly people. No contracts, no pressure, dancers who love it stay, and that is the only way we want it.
Good to know
The questions everyone asks first
How do I get started?
Getting started is easy. The first step is to call and schedule an introductory lesson. During the lesson your instructor will assess your experience level, then find out your goals, and build from there.
What if I have “two left feet” and “no rhythm”?
Don’t worry you won't be the first person with these issues that we have taught successfully. It’s not as uncommon as you might think but both of these are learned skills. Our instructors are trained in teaching people how to use both feet correctly and also how to hear and count music. We call it "zero to dance floor."
Do I need a partner?
No, a partner is not necessary. If you do not have a partner, your instructor will be your partner on lessons. Many of our students take as singles.
How much does it cost?
How much you choose to invest in your dance training is entirely up to you. This depends entirely on the goals you wish to accomplish and how quickly you would like to accomplish them.
